Breast Cancer Screening Survey Open through June 8
05 May, 2016
If you work in primary care in a role where you'd refer women for breast cancer screening then we invite you to take the Nevada Breast Cancer Screening Survey, open through June 8. Providers that should take the survey include primary care doctors in internal, family and general practice medicine, OB/GYNs, PAs, APRNs, and similar.

Developed by the Nevada Cancer Coalition (NCC) in partnership with early detection stakeholders, the purpose of they survey is to gain a better understanding of provider recommendations and information surrounding breast cancer screening. Nevada currently ranks 40th in the United States for percentage of women receiving mammography, falling 10% below the Healthy People 2020 goal of 80% with statewide rates at just 70%. NCC has already surveyed women in Nevada on their reasons for not receiving breast cancer screening, the results of which you can review here. We are now looking to understand the provider side of screening and how the varying screening guidelines are applied across the state. Additionally, we would like to gather feedback on how varying screening technologies and emerging issues such as dense breast tissue are managed by providers. The survey will take less than 10 minutes to complete and your individual responses will remain confidential. If you have questions about the survey or would like more information, please email kristen@nevadacancercoalition.org.
