RAM Clinics In Northern Nevada

10 October, 2015

RAM, short for Remote Area Medical, is an international organization that travels the country and throughout the world providing free medical services with no qualifications. The organization will have two events in Northern Nevada: in Yerington on Oct. 9, 10 & 11, and in Carson City  Oct. 16, 17 & 18.

These events are for those in Northern Nevada who are uninsured or underinsured, with no eligibility requirements and no ID necessary. Medical services are provided on a first come, first served basis. These are popular events, so line-up starts at midnight, numbers are given out at 3 a.m., and doors open at 6 a.m.

Each event includes opportunities for cancer screenings including Pap test for cervical cancer and mammograms for breast cancer. For mammograms, call 877-581-6266 to make an appointment and to see if you qualify for a free or reduced-cost mammogram screening. Walk-in appointments also available at the RAM clinics.

Additional services include vision and dental, as well as general medical consultations, diabetes screening, and other specialty services.
