Precision medicine, at the heart of the Vice President’s Cancer Moonshot, has rocketed into visibility over the past several years and is at the heart of this year’s Cancer Control Summit theme. What’s on the horizon for precision medicine in terms of prevention, early detection, and treatment? And, what’s already happening in Nevada? Join R. Nathan Slotnick, MD, PhD, of Perinatal Associates in Reno as he discusses this and much more during our keynote presentation.
Dr. Slotnick is a Perinatologist at Perinatal Associates of Northern Nevada and Medical Geneticst at Cancer Genetics Risk Assessment. He has a master’s degree in Molecular Genetics from the University of Washington and a doctorate degree from the State University of New York, Buffalo. He earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh and completed his residency and Fellowship training at University of California San Francisco and has served as Assistant Professor at the University of California, Davis (Maternal-Fetal Medicine) and Associate Professor at Eastern Virginia Medical School (Maternal-Fetal Medicine).
As a medical geneticist, Dr. Slotnick oversees a team of genetic counselors to provide genetic counseling and testing to people at increased risk for hereditary cancer, which can assist them to make informed medical decisions based on their own personal risk assessment.
